Li Fuzhen ( 1855-1930) studied Xingyiquan under Che Yonghong (Che Yizhai, founder of Che Style Xingyiquan). Li Fuzhen worked for many local banks as a security escort/guard. Li was very famous for his fighting skills, always defeating challengers. However once he met his match when he met Wei Changyi (Hebei Chuojiao Master), and, impressed by Wei Chanyi's skills, Li Fuzhen asked to learn from Wei Changyi. The two masters exchanged, Wei composed the Yueshi Shibashi of Chuojiaofanzi and Li changed what he learnt from Wei Changyi into Xingyi's Eighteen Kicks (Shiba Tui), also called Mandarin Duck Kicks (Yuanyang Tui).
Bu Xuekuan (1876-1971) started Xingyiquan study at the age of sixteen under Che Yonghong. He also learnt Yuanyang Tui (Mandarin Duck Kicks) together with Li Fuzhen. Bu Xuekuan also compiled other sets like Qigong exercises and boxing routines like Lian Huan Shou (Linked Hands). Some of his students include Sun Deyi, Zhang Yongyi, Yan Yuewu, Wu Chaoxiong and Li Yingang. Bu Xuekuan was director of the Shanxi Taigu County National Martial Arts Academy. He died at an advanced age of 96 and his last son was born when he was 70 years old.
Below the full set of Yuanyang Tui is depicted, we also include footage of Che Style Xingyiquan practitioners performing the set.
