Taiping Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Programs TCMA also known as Kung Fu or Wushu is one of the oldest embodiment of martial arts practice in the world and the essence on which many other martial arts have been derived. There are many different systems each with its own methodologies of practice and specialisations. At the Taiping Institute we group the arts according to geographical origin or concentration of practice and development.
>>Zhongyuan Wushu| 中原武术 - Zhongyuan (Central Plains) refer to the areas around the Huanghe (Yellow River) which is the origin and cradle of Chinese Civilisation. It includes Henan, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong and Shaanxi provinces of China.
>>Jiangnan Wushu| 江南武术 - Jiangnan refers to geographical regions south of the Chanjiang (Yangtze River) including Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Hubei, Fujian and Zhejiang provinces of China.
>> Lingnan Wushu | 岭南武术 - Lingnan was applied since the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770-221 BC) and refers the geographical regions including Guangdong, Guangxi provinces of China and Northern Vietnam.
